Property Summary

An extended semi-detached house; with a fabulous full width conservatory, creating a spacious family home. A double-glazed front door leads into the entrance hall, and on the left, is the lounge. The lounge is at the front of the property, and is a comfortable room with an open fireplace and brick surround. Book shelves and cupboards have been built into the alcoves either side. At the rear of the house is an attractive, recently fitted kitchen/breakfast room, with impressive attention to detail. Integrated appliances include a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and hob with an extractor above. The seamless Corian® work surface also serves as a breakfast bar at the side. The under-unit LED lighting radiates an attractive ambience and glow. There is ample space for a table and chairs and a door to the utility room and cloakroom. The utility room has plenty of built in shelving and cupboard space, a sink unit, work surface and washing machine. The cloakroom is modern with a WC, wash basin and extractor fan. From the utility room is a door to a useful storage area, which has gates opening out to the front. The conservatory is a highlight of the home; is double glazed, heated via two radiators, has a TV point, attractive oak effect flooring and two French doors leading to the garden. Upstairs is a boarded loft with lighting and loft ladder, two double bedrooms; one with a range of built in wardrobes, and the other with an attractive cast iron fireplace. The third bedroom is a good sized single room. The family bathroom has a white suite with power shower, heated towel rail and window. The house is double glazed throughout and the gas heating is via radiators. Outside is a gorgeous rear garden of considerable size, with a large expanse of lawn and mature trees, and a large shed tucked away around the corner at the bottom (it is 'L' shaped). The off-street parking at the front could comfortably accommodate two cars.

Location

Oakhill Road is a very pleasant, wide residential street in the favoured neighbourhood of Ashtead. Ashtead is surrounded by countryside and Ashtead Common; which is great for riding, walking and cycling is within walking distance. The village has an excellent assortment of shops; butchers, florists, Tesco Express, Co-op, chemists, restaurants (to suit most tastes and pockets), coffee shops, banks and a post office. The small village is old enough to have a bit part in Pepys' Diary -  recorded as his 'old place of delight,' (Samuel was stuck there one time when the inn at Epsom was full), old enough to be in the Domesday Book (16 ploughs) and even to have the remains of a Roman villa on the common!
GOING SOMEWHERE? There is a bus stop around the corner of the house; Trains: six an hour to London Waterloo or Victoria (41-43 minutes), Leatherhead (three minutes) and Epsom (five); half-hourly to Guildford (32 minutes), four an hour to Dorking (9 to 11) and Wimbledon (24). Driving: right on the M25; half an hour to Kingston, Croydon, Heathrow and Gatwick; the rural lanes, Box Hill and National Trust Properties of Surrey are 10 minutes away.
SCHOOLS: Primaries: Greville and St Peter's Catholic, Barnett Wood Infant, St Giles' CofE Infant. Secondaries: St Andrew's Catholic,  Rosebery (girls) in Epsom and  Therfield in Leatherhead. Locals say that it is a lovely place to bring up a family.
